Sri Lanka has it all. Watch whales off palm-fringed beaches, track leopards in lush rainforests and hike through the hill country to verdant tea plantations. You can get an insight into the island’s culture by exploring Buddhist monuments, clambering over colonial forts and indulging in its intensely flavoured cuisine. With such a wealth of attractions, figuring out where to go in Sri Lanka can be quite a task, although its relatively small size means you can fit a lot into a single trip  that covers the entire country geographically

Scenic Train rides

The railway network was introduced to Sri Lanka by the Colonizing British and was initially set up to transport tea, coffee and spices from the mountain regions to the port. And these routes, particularly the line that extends to Badulla via Ella, are considered as one of the most scenic in the world. Later additions like the line connecting the southern regions also hug the ocean bringing a joyous sunny train ride where one can enjoy the taste of salt all the way. We combine the best of these routes to develop magical train tours of Sri Lanka.

Cultural Experiences

Sri Lanka’s culture has been influenced heavily by India but if you look deeper its influences are drawn from all over the world. As such Sri Lanka has an extremely rich cultural heritage that continues to today through its various art forms, customs, events, pageants and traditional rites and rituals. Experiencing this isn’t hard as they are very much part of day to day life, but we do take measures to help you understand these and the context as some of them may not seem obvious at first sight.

Traditional Art & Craft

Delicate and detailed is what most of the island’s traditional art and craft can be described. Wood carvings, handmade lace, painted utensils, continue a rich tradition of crafts that were once deeply connected with the Kings and Queens and their kingdoms. The different regions, communities also add their own variations and flair to make everything so much more elaborate and complex.
