Hiking, Trekking and Camping

Soft adventure is around every corner or bend. The geographic diversity, landscape, rivers, lake, rocks and mountains bring about all sorts of magical potential. While you can enjoy this abundance on your own, a truly well planned series of activities put together with our expertise will transform your holiday into one for the ages.

Knuckles

Taking the shape of the knuckles on your hand and connecting the hill districts of Kandy and Matale is the less explored but fantastic range of mountains, famously known as the Knuckles Mountain Range. The range features numerous waterfalls and caves that can be accessed by short and easy nature trails or far more complicated and extreme hikes.

Horton Plains

This is a national park located on some of the highest elevations in Sri Lanka and features Montane grasslands and cloud forests. Horton Plains contains a rich biodiversity and are the headwaters of three of the island’s major rivers. It is also where some key attractions like Bakers Falls and the World’s End are located.

Ella

What was once a sleepy hamlet in the mountains turned into one of the island’s hot spots thanks to nearby attractions like the Nine Arch Bridge, amazing hiking trails, stunning waterfalls and breath-taking scenery. It features a somewhat hippie vibe with a laid back wide, authentic dining options and a quaint railway station which is usually how a traveler would enter Ella.

Peak Wilderness

Sri Lanka is home to around 50 natural reserves (sanctuaries) and this is one of the largest and is located around the famous Adam’s Peak mountain range. The area is noted for its unusual geographic formations which are the result of the elevations ranging from as little as a 1000 feet to nearly 8000 in a very small area.

Rainforest Trekking

While Sinharaja is the popular virgin rainforest reserve, rainforests are not only confined to this reserve. Our treks will also take you to other sites such as Kitulgala. These treks bring you the scenic beauty of these lush environments alive as you immerse not just in the trek but also engage with the communities in the area and learn about traditions and historic events.

Dry zone hiking

The majority of Sri Lanka’s land falls under the dry zone or places that are in between the dry zones and wet zones. These areas tend to be flat but feature numerous hiking options that vary from the well-known Sigiriya to lesser known places like Ritigala, Mihintale or Maduru-Oya. The surroundings look quite similar in most of the places but hikes would feature plenty of shady areas that are perfect for a break.

Kandy Trails

Kandy is more than a city. It is actually one of the most populous and geographically diverse districts in Sri Lanka. It also offers a rich array of trails and hikes. Some of these include Hanthana mountain range, Udawaththa Forest Reserve, Lebanon Estate, Galaha tea trails and Galboda falls trail to name a few.

Glamping & Luxury Camping

Over the last decade, Sri Lanka has added a host of Glamping and Luxury Camping sites to its repertoire. Locations include misty mountains, wildlife camps, sea side hot spots like Kalpitiya and Yala. We will look into your desired experience and make recommendations or set up our very own Glamping site to make your holiday a truly memorable one.

Camping in National Parks

Camping in a National Park will bring you close to nature not just as a physical experience but also in a spiritual sense. Far from civilization with nothing but the sounds of the wildlife and the sense of excitement and tranquility all rolled into one. However an experience like this is not possible at all parks or safe. We organize camping trips considering all aspects in a sustainable and ethical manner.
